Physician Assistant (TBI) (A Civilian Position)

 The Physician Assistant (TBI) primary area of work will be in Telehealth, but can be utilized in other areas if not involved with Telehealth.  Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) experience is preferred.

 Requirements:

·         Since this is a government contract, one of the following requirements must be met:  You must be a US citizen, a naturalized citizen, or born abroad to US citizen(s).Primary area of work will be in Telehealth, but can be utilized in other areas if not involved with Telehealth.·         Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) experience is preferred, with at least 12 months in the past 24 months.·         Ability to work under the direct supervision of a physician.·         Conduct physical exams, diagnose and treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on preventive health care, assist in surgery and write prescriptions, using Telehealth means whenever applicable.·         Collect and record, in proper format, medical and social historical data appropriate to the patient's condition.·         Perform a general physical examination.  Record the findings in proper format and determine medical qualification for various purposes.·         Plan and initiate proper treatment within the PA's defined privileges and the scope of practice of the facility.·         Clearly communicate to other health personnel either orally or in writing the findings, diagnosis and planned treatment regimen.·         Maintain inpatient and outpatient medical records in accordance with medical facilities procedures.·         PA shall perform the services, which a military PA with similar training and experience would be called upon to perform while in a similar duty assignment.·         Must be a graduate from a PA training program that is accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant. (Masters Degree, preferred.)·         Must possess and maintain a current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).·         Must have and maintain current, unrestricted license from a US state, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.·         Have at least three years experience, with at least 12 months in the past 24 months.·         Have and maintain BLS and ACLS certification.·         Will be required to pass a physical exam IAW the medical treatment facility's requirements they are working in.

Unique and ethical primary care house call practice is seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to visit homebound patients in their private residence or Assisted Living Facility. The practice currently covers Hernando, Pasco, Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. The majority of the visits will be taking place in Hillsborough countis.We are looking for a practitioner who will spend the time required with patients and not rush through visits. They will also be more than willing and very proactive in going above and beyond what is typical of a physician’s office in order to provide a great service to our patients. UNIQUE AND CHALLENGING PA JOB OPPORTUNITY

There is an unique opportunity available for a Physician Assistant to fill an AGR position with the 49th Missile Defense BN at Fort Greely, Alaska. The 49th MD BN is an AK ARNG active guard unit performing T10 duties (deployed in place) for the SMDC as part of their operational mission. The current PA is due to rotate out in Aug 2010.
 
The MTOE is for an LT/CPT but the Alaska Guard is advertising it up to MAJ, and they are willing to take a MAJ control grade and use it for a PA. This would also be a great opportunity for an AD PA who wouldn't mind being "deployed in place" and not mind capping out a career as a T32 MAJ.

Orthopedic PA

 Orthopedic PA needed for VA in Beckley West Virginia.  Beckley is a college town with two universities and a population of 16,000.  The job opened in January 2010 and the hospital would like to get an Army trained orthopedic PA to perform general orthopedic work to include fracture reduction, injections, and splinting.   Patient appointments are 30 minutes.  There is some surgical assisting in arthroscopy, but no call.  Beckley is a great are for hunting/fishing/whitewater rafting, etc.  POC is LTC® Ralph Amick PA-C at 304-255-2121 or 304-673-2164 (cell).

SCOPE:

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) must be able to perform medical history interviews and exams.  They must also be prepared to assist the on-site staff in performing basic screening tests such as vision, vitals, EKGs, and blood draws.  This position must complete all required paperwork accurately and proficiently.  This position must have experience with medical policies, regulations, procedures, medical equipment and instruments.  This position must be able to work well with other staff members and support the Site Manager’s efforts to build an effective and efficient team.  This position will be trained to use the equipment provided by CHS.  This position will report and consult directly with the Site Manager regarding any equipment, patient, staff or client issues.  Primary locations of performance are currently Florida, Georgia and California but will consider traveling individuals if required.

The ER is 24hs so there are 8 to12 hour shifts 21-22 shifts a month and there is also on call and overtime available.
